Montage
The kuleshov effect , is a film editing effect demonstrated, by Lev kuleshov in 1910s and 1920s . t is a mental phenomenon, which is used to trick the audience think they know what character is thinking in a film by just two sequential shots athan from a single shots. he used this to indicate the usefulness and effectiveness of film editing . the implication by viewers brought their own reactions to this sequence of images and then moreover attributed those reactions to the actor ,investing his impassive face with their own feelings .
Alfred Hitchcock ,also explains in detail many types of editing . the final form ,hich he calls pure editing which he explains fully with the kuleshov effect . for example in the sht short video, the camera is facing hitchcock and then turns to a woman and a baby , then the camera returns to Hitchcock face and he is smiling , making the audience think that he is a kind old man . then the camera faces hitchcock and then turns to a woman in a bikini which would make the audience think that he is lusting for her or hes a sexist pig.
